At 23:57 hours on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, Local 2687's Platoon 1 was dispatched to Mather Street and Waite Street for an MVA rollover.
The SUV collided with a guardrail and then into a bridge abutment causing heavy damage to the vehicle. The vehicle rolled over after impact and eventually came to rest landing on it's side.
The occupants of the vehicle were able to self extricate prior to Fire Department arrival, however all were in need of medical treatment.
A total of 3 patients were transported to area hospitals.
Units remained on scene to control a fluid spill from the vehicle, assist the Police Department and towing company with scene lighting, and to assist in the clean-up of a large debris field caused by the crash.
