Emeritus status is an honorary designation conferred upon a member to recognize their contributions and accomplishments over their careers.
During last night’s Local 2687 monthly meeting (1/19/21), Past President Kurt Vogt was unanimously voted to Emeritus status.
Kurt has been heavily involved with union activities for the better part of 20 years. He held numerous positions on the Executive Board, including President for the past 3 terms. His contributions to the membership and the Hamden community are well documented. He has been instrumental in local fundraising activities as well ensuring the health and safety of our great membership. Kurt has sacrificed and always put the best interest of the members in the forefront. It is only fitting that the honor has been bestowed on his behalf.
Kurt is still active at the State level, and currently serves as Vice President of District 3 of the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut (UPFFA).
On behalf of Local 2687, we would like to thank Kurt for his many years of service to our Union, and congratulate him on his Emeritus status.
