You may recall our post from a couple weeks ago regarding “Last Alarm IPA” on draft at BAR in New Haven. As the head brewer for BAR in New Haven, Dave Wood, (also a Lieutenant with the Hamden Fire Department), wanted to brew a special beer to honor Worcester, Massachusetts firefighter Christopher Roy, who selflessly gave his life fighting a five alarm fire back in December of 2018.
$1.00 from each beer sold was put towards the Ava Roy Fund, a benefit established for his 9-year-old daughter.
We are happy to announce that Dave was able to deliver a check to the Ava Roy Fund for $2,500. Dave traveled to Worcester today and presented the check to Worcester IAFF Local 1009 Vice President Terry Baudin.
Lieutenant Wood, as well as all of Local 2687, would like to thank everyone who came to BAR to support such a great cause!
